Sunset Poem by Laurie hill

Sunset

Rating: 5.0

Scarlet flames the sunset in the early autumn twilight,
like a canopy of fire streaked with gold'
I sit gazing at this beautiful, awe inspiring sight,
as so many have before me, in days of eons old

The breeze upon my cheek, as a womans soothing hand,
so light the gentle fingers, such a lovers soft caress,
playing melodies, to barren trees, in this autumn golden land,
and stills the sounds of night, into thoughts of lonliness...

Your beautiful and colourful images of an Autumn sunset fuse with human nature to create something spiritual - a well crafted and poignant poem. 'playing melodies to barren trees' is a truly magnificent line! S :)
