Sunset's Embrace Poem by Elizabeth Jacqueline Mpanga

Sunset's Embrace

I watch the sunset
and the weight of the day melts into gold.
Peace drapes itself across my shoulders,
serenity whispers in the cooling air.

The chaos in my mind dissolves,
giving way to gentler streams of thought.
My muscles soften,
and even my heart begins to smile.

I release, I forget,
as my soul stirs beneath the tender touch
of the sun's fading light.

With each farewell of the sinking sun,
my heart too releases its anger,
laying down its burdens.

Mind and body unite,
resting in a quiet harmony
a radiant stillness
where my soul basks,
complete and unbroken,
in happiness.
