Sunshine And My Rock Poem by Danielle Beechum

Sunshine And My Rock

Incandescence fills my soul
And leaves my weeping wings
Feeling relieved from the hardness of
Life and love and lonliness.

Rays of warmth lift my spirit and I
am illuminated and feeling
Free…free from affliction, free from deprivation,
Free from heartache, just finally free.

I can fly, soar the skies and flutter
While your light surrounds me and
I am protected but not oppressed
And my every movement is no longer
Complicated and I ask the Lord that you are blessed.

I search for my life while you
Light my path and keep me warm
On many cold nights and shelter me
From fear and fret until one day
There it is…the other half to my heart
I fly in desperation so that no one else
may steal what should be mines.

I soar at top speed to my realization
And land on my stability…my foundation.
And epiphany finds me and we are one.
This black butterfly and my rock.
