Susan Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Susan

Should i cease bearing fruit with you? !
Should i cease bringing forth the new wine? !
Then come and take refuge in the shadow of my love;
And act honourably and fruitfully to my heart.
You are like a great tree attached to a pillar!
So set out your love by night to meet my muse with joy;
For a man is measured by his own strength!
But my joy is still from my name as Susan.
