Sweet Sweet Blade, Come Rest Here In My Wrist - Poem by Fernando Alvarez

Furiously hacking through the skin
Rip it up
Shed the pain
Give me the sleep I want
The sleep I deserve
Let’s break open old scars
Make them deeper
Let’s expose the muscle once again
Make a few scratches here
A few more there
Make them deeper
Make them bloodier
Make all my pain go away
I want them to go around my wrist
Make a bracelet from a scar
Perhaps pull the skin up
Like taking off a glove
Take me apart
I’ve already fallen apart inside
Heart shattered
Lungs empty
Skeleton frail
Skin scarred
Finish me off
I want you to go
As deep as you can
I want you to be able
To stand in my scar
And sink into me
Finally be one with you.
