When first I saw your face I was overwhelmed
With emotions beguiling and overwhelming
Never experienced with other keepers of my heart.
Over forty-three years we have been together
And your hair is now white as snow.
My heart still leaps when you arrive at my door
And sinks when you leave returning to your other life.
My days and hours are counted to your next visit
Precious hours snatched from your busy diary
When we sit and talk, laugh and speak as best friends.
Your daily phone call makes each day worthwhile
Hearing your voice still makes heart tremble
With thoughts soaring like a Golden Eagle
Gliding high above the majesty of creation
