Sword And Psalm Poem by Ricky Lewis

Sword And Psalm

Seed of god so gallantly sprayed upon the earth
Such repugnant misery a plague upon our kind, from grave and birth
Crucified martyrdom evolution into pearl riddled kingdom
Are standing amidst the lies of a obelisk and crucifix

Flash forward a thousand years after his sacrifice
The shed of blood to his name shall suffice
Burn and blaze their holy trail through science and mind
Joined as one deny your truth sacred pages sealed inside

Greatest of scripture
No more than weak willed fairy tales
Assembled to preach your fractured moral code
Holiest the fixture
Serpent faced bishop and priest covered in scales
Deployed to secure the throne of heavenly abode

Defiantly stand amongst those enlightened profound fears
Execute deemed by ignorant men caught in flesh and bone
Gaudy clothing determines status among your fellow rapist peers
Those without sin will forever cast the first stone

From Jesus to Allah To Shiva and Mohammed
Sounding their righteousness with a holy nuclear shriek
Gathering their followers in a land so blessed
Clutching the aborted fetus of the future gray and bleak

Greatest of scripture
No more than weak willed fairy tales
Assembled to preach your fractured moral code
Holiest the fixture
Serpent faced bishop and priest covered in scales
Deployed to secure the throne of heavenly abode

Reached up to your god, baptism through fire
Screaming for saviors through scripture and tongue
Taking murderous orders from a power much higher
While the heavenly harp is strung

Unified in conjugality
Both sword and psalm
Bring together those who do not believe
Hand in hand a grim reality
Both chaos and calm
Survivors of the delusion seeking their reprieve

Cast us back into stick and stone
Our origins lost in a holy crusade
The true precursor stays unknown
Trampled by the godly brigade

Greatest of scripture
No more than weak willed fairy tales
Assembled to preach your fractured moral code
Holiest the fixture
Serpent faced bishop and priest covered in scales
Deployed to secure the throne of heavenly abode

Powerful writing and an impassioned cry to unbelievers. I wonder if God will seize you like Saul remake you like Paul. One thing is sure, you have never witnessed God's power. Would you really like to?
