Sydney Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Sydney

Sydney is a place unique
Quite rustic with its buildings,
It carries there a kind of mystique
To one who goes there visiting.

The Old blends well with the New
Its streets wind up and down
Its harbor gives an excellent view
Of the nice ambiance that it owns.

So when the voice of Conflict shouts
It clearly shatters the tranquility,
An eerie Darkness reigns without
A relevance to the city's beauty.

I hope with all my heart it wakes
To the challenge there presented
A city is what its people will make
To stand for Truth and lies prevented.
