SYNTHESIS OF SCIENCE AND
PHILOSOPHY
In 1927, the French philosopher Henri Bergson,
Amidst universal acclamation, won the Noble
Prize for Literature,
For his innovative mental adventure;
And in recognition of his rich and vitalising
ideas,
And brilliant skill of his presentation, -
As a part of his unique philosophical mission!
He advocated that it was intution, which was
a ' method of thinking in duration ', -
Which reflects the continous flow of reality in
motion!
In his work entitled ' The Creative Mind ',
Bergson differentiates between Mathametical
and Pure Time!
When we breakdown time into measurable
durations,
We create disruptions and breaks in its motion, -
For our own understanding and convenience!
But Real Time is a continuous flow, and cannot
be measured,
An ongoing process, which can neither be stored,
reversed, or treasured!
The human intellect represents time as a succession
of events,
Or events presented in a spatialised form, in our
efforts to perceive time's reality;
And not as a continous flow of its indivisible
fluidity!
But Pure Time is real duration, a ceaseless flow,
a continuation,
Which cannot be analysed mathametically;
But can be explained only intutively!
While scientific priciples are intellectual,
Metaphysical principles remain intutive, and
not solely mental!
Yet a new synthesized knowledge can be
produced, -
When Science integrates with Philosophy,
To unify the divergent perceptions of reality! *
