Table Of Contents (Issues) Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Table Of Contents (Issues)

Those issues others have to identify.
Should be enough to recognize when to leave,
Issues to realize not to have added...
To anyone's own table of contents.
Knowing...
Once this is done to apply.
With undivided attention given.
That's it.
Serenity of peace believed to have,
Is over.
Since...
Those issues others have to identify,
Will soon begin not to end.
Their issues will be used as a referral.
Again and again.
To know when and where they can go,
For the purpose to abuse...
Someone's patience who has kept,
A tolerance for their headaches to leave.
Not to delete but keep as a reminder.
To eventually become,
Something done.
Reminisced to wish it never to forget.
As if a chapter in one's life.
To remember...
They had every opportunity,
To either walk away or run.
But no...
They could not just mind their own business.
And the time that should have happened,
Something said to hear...
Killed that action.
Right on the spot.
Murdering whatever was left of their common sense.
