Tactful Feet Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Tactful Feet

In the early hours
Before the sun is ours
A certain urgency
Flagged an emergency

Barefooted feet fling
Over the bedside noticing
An unexpected awareness
Of feline hairiness

Instead of the carpet
I felt my beloved pet
Lying loyally at bedside
Impeding my stride

Second thinking my leap…
My cat continued to sleep
Thanks to perceptive feet
A tragedy is incomplete
