Taken Over - Poem by Mowie DeCorp

It feels like

I’m losing control of my life

There’s nowhere to run

And there’s no place to hide

I don’t have the rights

Or I don’t have the choices

To choose what I want

And even do what is right

There is another being

Hiding inside of my soul

They are evil and hurtful

Causing me pain that I will never understand

IT tells me I can’t love

IT tell me I can’t feel pleasure

There is no such thing as happiness

Cause IT never once cared about me

I’m led to confusion

Which leads to my anger

About childish behavior

And hurtfulness towards others

Sometimes I want to be hurtful

Towards myself and my other being

By taking a drug or LSD

Or even by jumping to freedom

My other half has taken over

Making me sad and lonely

I long for love and I long for strength

Just to be the person I once was

It feels like

I’m losing control of my life

There’s nowhere to run

And there’s no place to hide
