Sometimes I talk to the crows
when I am out walking.
Who knows if they understand
a word I'm saying?
How are you today, my fine fellow?
My, you're looking mellow but pert!
I would never hurt one of your kind.
Say, would you mind not staring so?
I look in his beady eyes and I wonder
if he has ever seen that movie by
Alfred Hitchcock, the one where the
crows and the other birds …
What the heck was the name of that
movie anyway? Hey, where did all
these other crows come from all of
a sudden? Why are they ALL staring...
A bit scary, especially to those of us who have seen the movie you mentioned. I love it! Rose Marie is right: they should make this the member poem of the day!
Amazing poem! So brilliantly crafted. It must be Poem Of The Day. To my favorites.
Rose Marie, thank you for your kind words. Poem of the Day? Not likely. They have already selected fourteen of mine, and I don't think they want to choose any more.
