Taught And Pledged Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Taught And Pledged

Seldom is negativity,
Becomes the result to expect.
For one who remains positive in thought.
Although there will be those times,
A raised eyebrow or two...
Can be difficult to hide.
When someone else is determined,
To decide how high...
They can make another's eyebrows rise.
Just to have it observed by others,
They can put to the test their negativity.
And then leave pleased,
What they set out to accomplish...
No one can deny to have seen,
Was done to achieve the result they wanted.
Proving,
Negativity to defend against...
Takes more than keeping positive thoughts.
Especially in environments,
When negativity is sought, taught and pledged.
As if kept as an oath to vow, obey and follow.
And a positivity,
Kept to keep it safe...
One is left to feel they should and must,
Seek approval to trespass...
With certified and appropriate documentation.

And these are the days and times of our lives.
