Teardrops On A Rose Poem by David Harris

Teardrops On A Rose

Rating: 4.1

Love can break the strongest heart
bringing with it tears and pain.
Teardrops landing on a rose
can turn its petals from red to blue.
The hurt love can bring
can be quite inconsolable.
Its teardrops landing on a rose
can turn it from red to blue.
We weep for love taken away
leaving us stranded on an empty shore.
Filling us with pain deep within
knowing it will never return.
The tears that fall
if they land upon a rose
will turn it red to blue.

Apparently deep inside we are all blue-bloods too; another correspondence to love, and roses, and being red or blue. Nice one.
