Tears
I want someone to cry for me
to see the one they never see,
to feel the hurt that eats away
my inner soul, a bit each day
To know the bitter tears I cry,
but yet my pride wont dignify
me saying what I feel out loud,
disguising it with my proud shroud.
I want a tear to form so clear
with outline like the sharpest spear,
that rips through those unseeing hearts
and recognition then jumpstarts.
To slowly see that I feel pain
that whenmy tears falllikethe rain,
and drown me in their salty brine
I still keep saying that I'm fine.
I want someone to cry for me,
to hold me close until they see
I'm human and not strong at all,
please hold me up, don't let me fall.
So beautiful! And the verses and rhyme, moving us in dance sublime, of deep feelings that engage, touching the soul. Such a poem captures hearts, That surrender to its call. Unforgettable, that's all! There was a poet that once said, if tears and pain can be shared they hurt less, You have beautifully expressed this idea here. Beautifully sad, yet very much alive. Poetry like this has power. The best type of communicative power, that reaches way, way within. And will forever sing.
Sometimes I think we have a mask we wear to shield others from having to see whatever pain we might be feeling...occasionally though it’s good to let it slip and share...I love reading your comments Sandra, they are so beautifully formulated and a joy to read..thank you so much.Lodigiana xx
