Tears Not The Scale Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Tears Not The Scale

As a teenage boy I wept most
When my grandmother died.
As an old man I wept least
When my own mother died.
Do tears tell the depth the grief?
Tear glands dry with the aging.
