Tell Me Poem by Janelle Morehart

Tell Me

Look at me and tell me what you see
A pretty little girl who's naive?
Look at me and tell me who you see
A smart woman with a future bright
Look in deep and see my mind
Tell me, Tell me dear friend of mine
Please tell me what you see
A snake pit of darkness?
One filled with lies?
Of treachery uknown?
And a hidden life?
If you see all that inside then surely you'll see
The person's thats real, the person thats me
I am hidden, so hidden i've become frail
I am darkened, I hide behind a veil
So many problems, far as the eye can see
Through the mountains where lightning splits the sea
In the course of my mind and all that you see
Is the person beneath it all
The person that is she
The she who is me
