Texas Shooting Poem by Savita Tyagi

Texas Shooting

All my prayers feel so small
No words of consolation are enough
Against these senseless killings
Nothing to offer
Just an empty sad heart
Filled with grief
For unimaginable suffering
Of innocent victims.
Lives beautiful cut short
For no obvious reason.
It makes one lose confidence
In human goodness
Yet with all my heart
I pray and write my words
To console those
Who must go on living
Bearing the scars of this painful tragedy.

From every corner of the world, comes the news of such sad incidents! It is unbelievable that people can turn so belligerent and callous! Think of the pain experienced by the close family of the killed! Innocent people are butchered in the name of religion and many 'isms'! We can only pray to see harmony and brotherhood binding man and man and peace prevailing in the world! A heart felt, evocative write, Savita!

A heartfelt prayer against grief and for those persons with unimaginable suffering and innocent victims has been portrayed astutely. Beautiful poem.
