Thank You Poem by Scarlet .....

I can not thank you enough
for you opened my eyes
showed me the light
you always told me to look for the light in everything
and now you are moving on
to higher ground
on into the light
for it is light you deserve
you earned it
as for me
the rest is up to me
it is up to me to keep my eyes open
to keep looking for the light in everything
and I will
I will work so that one day
hopefully soon
I will reach that same higher ground
I will reach the light to
you taught me so much
stuff no one else tried to
you taught me all this in such little time
you are the first to have ever answered my pleads for help
and that was all it took
for I no longer plead for help
for I now know I can help myself
and I must
for it is only I how can who can make my journey into the light
and you know what I always knew that
but I never thought I could do it on my own
but now I do
for I will make it
I will do it on my own
I may hurt now
I may miss you
but I know I will survive
I now know I can
for I now have the strength to
to be independent
to make it on my own
