People say millions read their poems,
but I felt dwarfed in front of them,
I read their poems sincerely day and night,
commented then and there how I felt.
I thank those three who visited me,
and the rest who got two,
but never thanked me for the comments,
that I made for your brilliant poems,
think of me, when you look,
at the popularity list and,
I would think of you,
when I look at it.
Thank you, Raj Arumugam for the compliments and encouragement. Though many of these poets here, are very efficient, a few of them are very reluctant to comment on other poems and this is a worrying and unhealthy condition, which should be corrected. At last I have come to know where I stand in this arena, though I di have hope on my work as everyone here do.
Genuine grievance! But then we are happy with what we have created!
i think the site keeps neutrality and gives equal opportunity to every one to have the popularity....and the rest is not our hand, our duty to just write down, if there is merit popularity will come automatically.......
So true, Veeraiah, our poems are not among the most famous ones. Not too many people are reached. But the few we reach, the few who find some inspiration in our poems, the few who are touched, are enough to keep us writing. I am sure quite a number of the poets I meet in this website, one day will be famous poets. I covered this topic in one of my poems, Y.. poetry and history. I 'd like to read your opinion on that one.
If the persuaded fans of face book read and swell the numbers, as they do in my case, it is not popularity. If the fellow poets read and praise mutually, it is not popularity. There are learned people who read silently and leave no comments but they will quote the name of the poet in their essays. People who read those essays will report to you that your poems' merits are praised much. That is how we become popular. I am very much pleased by your daring comments. Carry on sister, carry on. Let popularity take its own time to come.

Oooops! Poetry sites do encourage a certain level of competition, dear VS...indeed you'll find this at lot of blog sites too...I guess as poets, let's keep singing and writing...that's the main thing about writing, and I notice that passion in your writings...
