Thanksgiving Poem by Marilyn Lott

Thanksgiving

Rating: 4.2

Don’t you love Thanksgiving food?
There is no meal that can compare
And the main thing I love most about it
With family and friends I always share

I bake those scrumptious pumpkin pies
Pies that don’t come from the store
Pecan pies I bake as well
They are desserts my family adores

Yams and rolls and dressing too
To go along with the succulent bird
Folks gather around my decorative table
As soon as they get the word

We must not forget the cranberry sauce
Whether jelly or just keep them whole
Also I make decorative jello
From inside a fancy jello mold

Pickles and olives and other things
Decorate the table as well
Oh, you can smell all of this food
As you open the door you can tell

I just love this holiday event
I really get into the mood
Once that day arrives
We all love the Thanksgiving food

But last, but certainly not the least
Is our prayer of thanks, my friends
And then we can dig right in
Enjoying our Thanksgiving trend!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
