That Odd Lady Next Door Poem by D.N. Rebb

That Odd Lady Next Door

Rating: 5.0

Sweetheart, do you have OCD?
Clapping like a kook, so freely
Do you realize it's six in the morning?
Just walking down your lane with no warning
There must have been something that scared you once
Rats likely, but no recent recurrence
Fascinating how loud you can truly clap
Everyone's now awake, you don't give a crap
Sometimes, you go on as you're waiting for your ride
It's odd how the irrelevant sun coincides
Complete darkness, or a hint of fresh light
That vigorous clapping goes on in spite
I've seen a few bunnies over the years
Though Monty Python hares won't show here
Sure there's raccoons and smelly skunks as well
Did one nudge and call you mademoiselle?
I'm cruel, and want to hide fake rodents around
Oh man, can you even imagine that wound
Good thing we don't have snakes to worry about
Though, there would then be less rodents to account
I never had the guts to ask you why you clap
Guess I could have at least offered you my live-trap
Likely be loony enough to make them your pet
Ralph the rat, the crazy one, what a great duet

I feel for you, D.N. BUT I feel more for her because of the even greater that she's experiencing every single day!
