That Which We Seek Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

That Which We Seek

Rating: 5.0

More rare than Gold
"True Love"

So hard to find,
So hard to keep.

We All yearn
For that special someone.

Someone, to be there,
In your moments of joy.

Someone, to be there,
In your moments of pain.

Someone, to comfort you,
To dry your tears.

Someone, to be by your side,
In your darkest hour.

If found,
You are blessed.

For some, never found,
Dying alone at the end.

What the heck is 'true love' or just plain 'love' anyway? ? ? ? It is a convenient, short word, but leaves a lot unsaid. I feel 'actions speak louder than words', but some words can hurt more than words.

One does NOT have to die alone, even if without a 'true love', which I may or may not have had in four marriages.

I read a while ago. Now to comment: I think 'shipwrecks'.

Thought I had left a comment on this one already, but I don't see it! Anyway, great poem! Nothing worse than dying alone, I would think.

We all long for real love.....! The feeling that we are all alone without anybody to share our pain or partake of our joy is the greatest misery in life! Fortunate are those who find a true companion! A great write!
