Life is not
What it use to be.
Conditions
Touching you and me
Are shared
By so many more—
Both the wealthy
And the poor.
Economy’s
On a downward trend.
Folks
Just can’t seem to win.
Lost homes,
Lost cars,
Lost savings.
Gone too far.
People
Living in a tent.
Others
Can’t afford their rent.
Bankruptcy’s
On the high.
Unemployment’s
To the sky.
But perhaps
Times will change
In the scheme
Of things,
That lives
Would rebound
From such
Economic sting.
