The Acid Queen Poem by sue crocker

The Acid Queen

Rating: 4.8

She shines at parties, such a queen

Her hair all bright, her eyes they gleam

Her persona lively, she dances and sways

Her body is a temple, to all who survey

She takes chances, with chemicals white

Injects her arm at dead of night

It gives her a thrill, it is heaven she says

As she stares at the floor, in a comatose daze

She wakes in the morning, she cannot resist

Her body cries out for another hit

She takes to the street, her body to sell

In hope to make money, for her own acid hell

She wears tacky make up, colours so bright

And clothes that are showy, tarty and tight

Waiting on roadside, she waits for a ride

Selling her body, forgetting her pride

A car it stops, she takes her chance

She climbs right in, no second glance

The man he mauls at her body in haste

She takes his money and then she escapes

Back on the street her acid she buys

Then she hurries home its sweetness to try

She lies in a dream state, she is in heaven

She is woken up as the alarm clock rings seven

The acid queen rises and dresses up sweet

To nightclub she walks with stilletoed feet

To dance with the men who often survey

This beautiful woman, whose eyes she does sway

If only they knew what the make up does hide

This drug ridden woman, who has lost all her pride

The acid queen she dances like she is insane

The chemicals are eating away at her brain

Her craving is stronger, her mind is destroyed

The drug has reacted, she feels null and void

She falls on the floor, her breathing is shallow

Her skin it is sweaty, yellow and sallow

The emergency team work on her for hours

The acid it fights back, regaining its power

She dies in the night, she now looks so serene

The dance is now over , for the Acid Queen
