The Amusing Phase Of College Days Poem by Dr Dillip K Swain

The Amusing Phase Of College Days

Rating: 5.0

Let me tell you my sweetheart
I am still searching for that ardent love
We cherished many years before
In the amusing phase of college days
Moving carelessly hither and thither
Less attending scheduled classes and tutorials
Hardly walking into teachers' chambers
For clearing doubts and unsolved mathematics

You were often found under the banyan tree
The big towering tree with amazing shades
With your boyfriends not around but me
Your talkative art was just one-way traffic
I had the choice to hear like an innocent child
Hearing fairy tales before sleeping on calm bed
Your delicate fingers softly kiss my hairs
Your natural face, no cosmetics, no mirrors
I rushed to college forgetting mirrors
Forgetting to comb my jumbled hairs
Your soft fingers across my hairy head
With its magical spell blew my goals away
I opted to ignore the dreams of my parents
To dream of you to be with you

I know not how you changed yourself
Forgot childhood days, funs and joys
You have become brief and reticent
Your talkative mouth is talking less
I am waiting on your return path to home
Chanting softly and sweetly your name
You are waiving your saccharine fingers
With a controlled smile on your face
Passing close to me with a novel grace
