The Arrow Poem by Neil McGreevy

The Arrow

I shot an arrow into the air
it fell to earth I know not where
but when I heard a strangled cry
I knew it hadn't gone that high
it flew across the garden fence
beyond a hedge that was quite dense
now someone standing over there
has a new parting in their hair
