The Arrow And The Skeleton Poem by M G

The Arrow And The Skeleton

Rating: 5.0

Are you still waiting?
At our tree our spot,
Are you still waiting for me?
Like you promised all those years ago,
You remember don't you?
What you said to me before running into the fire?
I still hear your voice whisper down my neck
"My darling run, we'll meet together under the tree, where I can hold you, and you can hold me."

Our tree held memories,
Sneaking out in the dead of night just to see me.
Or when you taught me how to shoot an arrow
Our tree held beauty,
Watching the sunset while you had your arms around me,
Our tree held pain,
Listening to the lies you have told my brain.

Oh it's still the same, the pink red blossoms that from the tree,
Oh it's still the same, the roots sticking out from every which way,
Oh it's still the same, the grass next to you is as soft as always,
Oh it's still the same, the way your boney hand fits in mine,

I'll stand up and turn away, Till next year my love,
Maybe then I'll pull the arrow out of your dead and cold Skeleton
