The Blue Planet Poem by Paula Glynn

The Blue Planet

Life on earth: a tiny blue planet
Spinning on a dreaded fatalistic journey in space
A planet to be seen from NASA satellites
Around other planets spinning in orbit
A blue planet beautiful yet dangerous.

Earth to generate dangerous but charismatic dinosaurs
The theory of evolution correct
Dinosaurs around for hundreds of millions of years
Long before the human race came along
The history of a blue planet 4 billion years old.

The Big Bang did generate unlimited energy
Expanding the universe much more quickly than thought
The universe creating possibly stories that are immortal
Thousands of potential life-giving planets sought
But earth is the great beauty of space.

Earth to home to amazing and valuable wildlife
Earth to be home to dangerous animals
The human race however loving their lions and tigers
The human race even fascinated by bugs
Although too unpleasant for many people.

Earth spinning on its axis with an oxygen rich atmosphere
Circulating the incredibly hot temperature of the sun
Weather on the blue planet going from hot to cold
Going from snowstorms to heatwaves
Even flooding and violent hurricanes.

No matter the timeless beauty of earth
Time does not stop and we have to do work
The one and only blue planet earth has vast worth
The world being harsh and difficult but with precious rainforests
And saving a planet as old as time is vital.
