The Chances I Took

Rating: 5.0
The chances I took come back to me,
like leaves rippling on troubled water-
the death of a stillborn daughter,
finding solace in someone's arms,
being devoured by subtle charms-
the little shards of gray
I deal with every day.

They come back to me...in dreams,
chasing me down empty halls,
around corners boxing me in,
begging me to begin again.

They come back like phantoms,
like the butterfly's kiss,
settling me in silent bliss.

The chances I took, I would not take again,
unless your arms would help me through them.
