The Crying Willow Poem by Sandra Feldman

The Crying Willow

Orphaned and loveless,
The Willow Tree cried,
The sky took pity,
As the starlight went by,
The Night was sadness,
More than the Day,
No one to love,
No one to say,
'You're green lovely tresses,
Enchant me today'

Orphaned and lonely,
The Willow tree cried
Having only the pond
At it's lonely side,
No one to love it,
To call its own,
Loneliness kills,
As you turn to stone.

The Weeping Tree's roots,
Became weakened and broken,
Never a kind word to it,
Verbally spoken,
The green became yellow,
And dry and then brown,
The Willow that cried,
Had lost it's green crown.
