The Delhi Smog

Rating: 5.0

farmers burn stubble
in northern state.of Punjab
then wind blows trouble
Delhi gasps; ' toxic', say labs
who is.culprit, who will nab?

yearly it recurs
but why around November?
blame burning.crackers?
by next month none remembers
all admit, it is sombre.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Delhi is now rated as one of the most polluted cities. Life is becoming more and more hazardous in the capital city with unprecedented levels of air pollution. The smoke from the burning stubble is the one reason for the escalating rise in smog in the city which is otherwise smoggy with the carbon discharge from vehicles. It is sad that we are careless about such things....! A poem so well written!

I call it delightful because it delightfully expresses the fact that we human beings are responsible for polluting environment causing health hazards as we do things by burning stubble, bursting crackers and array of such events that we do delightfully!
