There is a homely aspect (In fact almost Moaist[his Red Book Period, of course]) to much of your work. You pull lines together so well, I can almost imagine you grasping them out of thin air, as if they were straws, and weaving them into poetry. This is a prize example. It is difficult to state 'best/worst' with you because you are consistent.
Reminds me of Paddy frantically seeking a park so he could attend an important meeting - says Dear Lord I'll never miss church again ever & I'll give up the Jameison if you'll only find me a car park. And miraculously one appears. He says, not missing a beat, Ah, Lord - never mind, I've found one me-self! I think we manufacture our dispositions to fail out of perversions of faith. Rgds, Ivan
The fine print of your contract. Brilliant line. Reminds me of when I was a wee one and I used to do things like, pray to the god I wasn't too sure about that if only s/he would do XYZ then I would return the favour. I guess god's favours were done with a little more largesse than my own. t x
