The Dream Poem by Susheela Alexiose

The Dream

Rating: 5.0

Of the many planets in the world
I like Jupiter the brightest of all
For I always dislike the darkness
Which only gives distress and agony

The separation only made my love increase
The love that is a riddle
The distance only made me secluded
From my beloved bright Jupiter

Like divine showers there came
The goddess of love- Venus
She took me away from this world
And kept me safe in the hands of Jupiter

There in Jupiter's mansion
We danced and made merry
As a baby in exultation
And tired after hours, I rested in his lap

But very soon I realised
It was only a dream
Never again did I long to see
My beloved in my dream

But I thank Jupiter for the precious hours
He shared in my life till the dawning
For the love he filled in me
Helped me bloom like a tree
