The Evening Fire Poem by Eric Cockrell

The Evening Fire

what i value most
is the time given...
the touch, the pain,
the edge of the wheel.

the color of the wind,
the name of the rain.
the groan of mountains,
the call of the winding river.

the hands, the eyes,
the words beneath words.
the work, the sweat,
and the evening fire!

Please put a piece of wood on for me...it sounds so comforting, an evening fire after a hard day's work...or after you've lived your life and now find solace in watching a fire...
