The Fall Poem by Kewayne Wadley

The Fall

Her head whirls around,
Eyes soften in gaze.
She begins to speak then pauses in motion.
Taking every possible moment she can take.
An Expression that explores deep love.
A Sentiment in deep regard to her eyes.
As My eyes felt hers in reflection.
Not wanting to rush her.
I Stared back into the eyes whom steps suddenly became heavy.
A private moment in a social gathering of low spoken conversations and the passing of cars.
Her breath became shallow as I stared into her deep brown eyes.
Within Arms length of each other.
I wrapped my arms around her
As Summer passed straight into a chill, Blown cold by the wind.
The moments silently passed.
Then there.
The leaves began to fall.
Caught in the next breeze that blew before us.
Swirling and tossing about before hitting the ground.
Her eyes soften a bit more.
Staring into the window of my eyes listening to the leaves rustle about.
Before long.
The tree casts it's shadow directly over us.
Forming an umbrella with oblong fingers.
Stretching inch by inch as the seconds passed.
Blending us into the tree.
Then there
Her eyes grew in delight as the once heavy steps became lighter.
no words were needed.
