The Falling Leaf Poem by Lorena Lalen Cruz

The Falling Leaf

Rating: 5.0

I saw a fragile leaf
Jumped off a high cliff
Though death is what it fears
It should be done to cut-off it's tears

It knows it isn't right
it knows it's not the proper flight
But the pain is breaking through
What else is left to do?

This is the best way
The leaf could never stay
Instead of being insane
It ended it's life of vain

At least no one would hear
No one would fear
No one would know
Even if it happens so slow

'Coz the leaf would not make a sound
When it hardly hits the ground
It's only a leaf that's falling
With a life of fire that's flaming

Maybe it's time for the leaf to fall
And leave behind the fire of ball
To spread its wings without falling
And to see that light that is hoping

Yes, it is all over
It reached the end of the river
But still I pity the leaf that fell
It lived a life like hell

be thankful that the leaf has ended its misery.. no more pains and suffering.. only peace and calmness... for the rest of eternity..

A leaf that falls...from the high cliff..to the rushing river below..So soft, so slow, yet so complete..A process that rarely makes sound..if ever it does, a whisper...Though leaves may simply fall from trees to the ground, this one chose another path.. Nice poem, keep writing! ^_^
