The First Snowfall Of The Year Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

The First Snowfall Of The Year

Rating: 5.0

The beginning of a new calendar year
Is covered in white… like marshmallow
No need to hurry about and go somewhere
Travel plans are slowed by the deep snow

The trees are masterfully dusted
With beautiful clinging soft fluff
The fence tops have a generous layer
Of whipped topping fit for a cream puff

The wind is gently stirring sleepy branches
Quietly rocking them to and fro in its arms
With a mother’s tenderness… not a flake falls
Serene splendor enchants with magical charms

A combination of confectionery treats and peace…
The pristine cover of crystals has a calming affect
Welcoming the months ahead with a hidden secret
Dormant life slumbers as winter’s blanket protects
