The Flickering Lamp's Fragile Grace Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

The Flickering Lamp's Fragile Grace

A fragile flame, in shadowed windswept space,
Humanity, a candle's trembling light,
We build our towers, then leave a barren trace,
And plunge from soaring heights to darkest night.

We weave grand dreams, of love and boundless art,
Then stain our hands with cruelty and fear,
We yearn for peace, yet tear the world apart,
And shed the very tears we hold so dear.

Yet in the gloom, a spark of kindness gleams,
A whispered word, a gentle, healing touch,
A moment's hope, that mends our broken schemes,
And proves that love can conquer over much.

Though shadows fall, and darkness may descend,
The flickering lantern burns, until the end.
