The Focus, The Purpose Poem by Sebastian Melmoth

The Focus, The Purpose

Rating: 5.0

Understanding the focus, the purpose, words that now envelope me with senses of being in a much better place.

The pressure cooker of my mind throbbing from this persistent troll, a cheeky witch soaring in the air with no morals no cares.

No celebrator more like a cele-hater with poisonous footsteps who seems to keep wanting to walk in my space, sucking on my life force but my shield my door firmly shut, no more room to entertain her anymore.

Putting aside the past has been so hard so tough praying for a moment of calm for a gifted period of time.

Focusing now on the mission to move forward with my heart thankfully still beating, still breathing earning a small space on this world the spinning rock of feelings.

Days given new purpose distraction from the pain hurt and sorrow, entwined, entailed once an angry enflamed heart now healing.

Walking into the light out of the darkness, gone are the dark times which have carried me on a sea of despair for far too long.

My outer appearance that of a broken man, of damaged goods shopping in the aisles of chaos daring to peer into my basket ticking off a shopping list of feelings, of hope, of happiness and of recovery.

Asked 18 months whether I'd still be here, standing exposed and raw, bare and fragile, wouldn't have been surprised if I was pushing up the daisies.

Now feeling overcome, feeling the slow lift of baby steps, I am making progress, walking back on the narrow path.

Travelling to a place, I can call mine, to make a mark, to shine, to show others that I still have something worth hanging onto and around for, I now understand the focus and purpose.
