The Fruit Of Labors Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

The Fruit Of Labors

The fruit of labors kept belabored,
One day comes to pay...
With dividends and benefits,
To lift a weight off shoulders...
Of those who have toiled,
And remained faithfully to pray.

Sacrificing time and devotion,
Not from it done to stray.
Is a quality that may be overlooked,
By others with social events to book.
But one disciplined with duty and vision,
Will be rewarded.
And not from crowds to hear applause.

The fruit of labors to do belabored,
One day comes to pay...
With dividends and benefits,
To lift a weight off shoulders...
Of those who have toiled,
And remained faithfully to pray.
Leaving them to know God has been pleased.
