A pale white ghost sauntered through the hall
It saw the gloomy face, the overhanging pall
Tears dried up on faces so dear
Perhaps he thought
I will shake them up with fear
Then again a smile is what I should certainly bring
Let me bring back to them a little zing
So close up it went to those sad souls
& tickled them bright pink
until laughter filled their dark holes
All through the hall ran the pale white ghost
To make up lost time
It tried the most
A kiss on the lips
Brought life to the dead cheeks
It gave immense comfort
It just could not speak
I t ran its icy fingers on the drooped spine
Upright it stood
like a soldier in line
Next it floated to the ladies in the parlour
But fear made them all run out and holler
It tried to soothe the little baby
But just in time, the mother grabbed the baby
And then it was just fine
It searched high and low but could not find
Its twin soul, the face, the serene mind
Far in the distance, suddenly though
It caught a glimpse
Quickly enough though only for an instance
She was preparing to follow his rocky path
She decided she would end it in the bath
The ghost tried in vain to reach her before the deed
Alas it was too late
She had swallowed the reed
Vainly he tried to tell her I'm back
But she had already hit the eternal sack
He shook her completely
But she would not respond
Why she had already left the earthly compound
So now the ghost waits not for a silvery heaven
But the clocks to ring half past seven
For that is when will open the pearly doors
And out will come through its shining arbour
His old love his amour
Together they will rule
The land of the reeds
Hand in hand plant more laughter seeds
The halls now rang with silver bells clear
Together they were choral music for every ear
