The Ghost And The Darkness Poem by Ima Ryma

The Ghost And The Darkness

Listen humans and you shall hear
Of Tsavo, Kenya where man did
Make man eating lions appear,
In an encroaching railroad bid.
Dubbed 'the Ghost' and 'the Darkness' two
Male lions made mincemeat upon
Hundreds of used to be rail crew,
An unheard of phenomenon.
An impossible mission - yes!
No humans knew the reason why.
Just cranky lions, the best guess.
Hunted down, the lions did die.

At Field Museum, Chicago way,
These maneaters are on display.
