The Glass Of Wine Smiles - Poem by Rani Turton

Two glasses of wine
Waiting, on a bare wooden table.
Breathing the air.

Barges that float on the Seine.
Slowly, like swans on a lake.
A step on the staircase.

The door opens.
The beloved has come.
The glass of wine smiles.

lines very much expressive...a silent picture of the joy of the 'wine' inside...10 (Report) Reply

I loved the touch of Persian poetry in it.

Short but sweet poem. Who would think 2 glasses of wine can be the inspiration for such a great poem. (Report) Reply

Rani, this little gem is fantastic! You have truly put wine in it's proper context. Thank you. (Report) Reply
