A work that could have spared a battered child
that would cool hatred's burning coal
keep a people from being reviled
A writing that might have saved a soul
Buried in dust, an overlooked discarded verse
An unrecognized poet, and a lost word
and for this the world is far the worse
The greatest poem, was never heard
