Why should God care for me?
I am one of billions of humans on this earth
And many billions more no longer alive
And these numbers too are small
Before the trillions of great gaseous worlds
That preceded and will succeed our earth?
Why and what could such caring mean?
I may need God to care
I may need to feel God is listening to my prayers
And will somehow protect me and those I love
I may need that God somehow will help me
But with all my trying to please God
Living in accordance with the sacred teaching of my Jewish tradition
Do I really believe God should be with me?
When I am just one of so many
And not by any means the best in any way at all?
Very good questions that no one can truly answer, but if you have faith, that's already part of the battle answered and won.
You pose a good question in a good poem. There are gods and there is God. God is the source of everything but we create our own gods because of limited scientific capacity. All religions are human constructs and have nothing to do with God. What is obvious is God loves what he created and you MUST love what God created. So we just need LOVE and we are done. The rest is human made gods and politics.
'When I am just one of so many And not by any means the best in any way at all? ' - Our thoughts might have a limit at some end, but God's Mercy has no measure. So, no scope to give up hope! The poem is rated 5 Stars***** by me!
