The Haunting~ Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

The Haunting~

Rating: 5.0

Today you can find her
Wallowing in cognizant desire
Her heart beats all but spent
In a lost and dying fire;
Too many hours of wasted longing lost
Once the hopeless romantic, she's now gone
Always loving the wrong ones
This her, ill-fated siren song;
Shameful needs had all but once consumed her minds eye
Only remnants of her torn heart remain
Driving her to points of hope in the sky
Only rusted memories of yesterdays pain;
Today all but covered in the dust of nevermore
Yet remembrance of her youth still tease
She remains haunted by the love of long before
These thoughts still bring her to her knee's;
