The Heart Is Turned Toward Home Poem by Walterrean Salley

The Heart Is Turned Toward Home

Rating: 4.5

When darkness descends
Mid twilight's flurry.
And the sun has set
And the eyes are blurry.

As the empty stomach
Must have its say.
And the brow is heavy
Midst belly's bray.

You're tired from roaming
Come days end
While longing for peace
And rest my friend.

So tired and weary
The mind has become,
And the heart is turned
T'ward home.

When weary after the day's hard toil.... our home stands as a sweet haven of rest and board! Nothing can be sweeter than a sweet home. Enjoyed! I invite you to read my poem Inspirational Quatrains On Home!
