The Ice Poem by Chantelle Nixon

The Ice

Some say that it’s no way to live
To not have a love beside you
But I embrace it
Freedom is a very splendid thing
I enjoy being free from the ways of love
Love is a disease that
Makes you weak, stupid, foolish
I enjoy my dry pillow
That I sleep so well on every night
I enjoy being able to control most
Of my emotions
I enjoy flirting with men
And breaking their hearts
See if your hope is never up
Nobody lets you down
And if the “L” word is absent
Then happiness can prevail
Heartbreak is like
The weight of the world
Sitting comfortably on your shoulders
Why would I welcome this type of pain?
Who would do such a thing?
And let me tell you
There is no love without heartache
LOVE IS PAIN
And I want no part of it
If you ask me
This is the only way to live
I welcome to my heart – the ice

Very good. Awesome way to express yourself. Although love brings pain it also brings peace. We may think that we can go on without it but in some form and way we will always need it. That's the thing about love it hurts you and it heals you.
